Operations
A coordinated effort from the Canadians and Americas was required to built, supply and maintain DEW Line operations. Lands where DEW stations were emplaced oftentimes did not have infrastructure or natural resources available. Therefore, all supplies and equipment had to be brought in by air, sea or land.
Between 1985-1994, the DEW line was upgraded with 15 new AN/FPS-117 phased-array radars, then re-named the North Warning System.
